East hampton house is at once stylistically inclusive and rigorously edited - essentially classical and exquisitely enigmatic! @2michaelsdesign have embraced an attitude of non-intervention preferring to allow the authoritative architecture to project its unique character! The designers have adhered to an essential scheme of black and white, they add or adopt statement pieces from within an expansive design continuum (including midcentury) whilst accommodating a diverse collection of art. In this way exciting and intriguing juxtapositions are set up! The overall aesthetic indicates that the home both represents and effortlessly integrates the various requirements and personalities of the clients. Most importantly the interior design is ‘stand alone’ existing outside trends and thus singularly timeless.

Read about the enduring essence of an Aussie beach house by visionary architect John Chappel in @architecture_au Here’s a short intro:
“This fresh and functional house was one of a flurry of modernist beach houses built on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula during the boom of the 1960s...Dallwitz House...While not technically a project home, Chappel’s house for the Dallwitzes reflects a tentative venture into modularity...Chappel’s Dallwitz House was conceived as a regularly spaced nine-foot modular structural grid that accommodated site variances through its stilt structure. It featured an elevated main floor designed to capture both views and sun, while providing an undercover area for car and boat storage...The house is one room wide for easy, effective cross-ventilation, and it has a flat roof with overhanging eaves for shade. Exterior wall cladding in white Fibrolite sits beneath a row of clerestory windows on the southern elevation, while on the northern elevation, plate glass window walls frame panoramic views. Terminating the structure at either end are dark-grey load-bearing walls of Besser bricks.”
