Paralelo Estudio, Madrid opted for a Nordic style in which intense and fresh colours such as salmon and aquamarine are combined with natural textures and materials, like wood, rope and cork, as well as enlivening the interior with copious indoor plants!

The interior design and layout of Drømme Kaffe House is conspicuously astute. What particularly works is the way the architects have manipulated a tight narrow footprint to factor in both intimate niche areas as well as larger group spaces. In the process, warmth and cosiness is established by articulating the height, and by adding in plants, rattan and timber along with alcove seating.

The sum of these attributes along with the ingenious timber shelf creates depth, open-ness and light. An exciting visual panorama unfolds; one that appears natural and enduring. For all the positive design attributes, coffee is the big story here!

Our clients, Ángela Cremont and Esteban Canet, asked us to enhance the origin coffee, so Drømme Kaffe House stands out from its contemporaries in the area. A corner for coffee lovers: a small community sharing their passion for espresso.  Paralelo Estudio

A central element to the design is the bar: both the concept and the flow revolve around the corner. This design focuses the corner as an exclusive concept; spotlighting the barista in a prominent place, easily seen from the footpath.  Paralelo Estudio

Fundamentally, the corner symbolises a meeting place. And self-evidently corners are essential to both small and large urban architectural schemes: architecture and many elements that make up the built environment centre on the corner. The corner concept is not only critical to architecture physically, but also intellectually and emotionally, especially in terms of privacy in corporate plans.

Paralelo Estudio and the owners promote lifestyle enhancement since DKH is a meeting place ideally located within a cosmopolitan precinct. That idea targets the coffee house as an experience on route to cultural discovery; walking to work as your drop-in coffee fix, or to hang out with friends as a pleasant relaxing diversion from family pressures.
